One of the main objectives of the project was to intensify public of the Russian Museum of Decorative Art.

At present, the site does not possess the quality environment necessary for the accumulation of the flow of people. The completed project meets the needs of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts, namely it has the necessary functional filling, modern landscaping and a variety of scenarios.

The main courtyard plays the role of a «green foyer» from which visitors are redistributed to different parts of the museum complex due to the different types of paving types where the visitor reads two main directions: the central axis to the main entrance of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts and the branch leading to the archway. In all parts of the territory of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts a circular route is provided which accumulates the flow of people. By introducing pedestals into the pathway system for art objects the courtyard becomes a site for a permanent open-air exhibition.

At the main entrance is an information center with a ticket office and a bookstore. On the roof of the pavilion there is a large luminous letter «D» in the corporate logo style of the Russian Museum of Decorative Art which attracts attention from the Garden Ring. The large showcase, oriented to the square lures visitors inside the pavilion.

Walking through the archway, you can find a cafe with a cozy courtyard. Cafe will be in demand not only from visitors, but also from workers nearby offices.

Farther away in the backyard of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts there is a playground and a pavilion for film screenings and lectures. There is also an amphitheater which creates visual connections with Delegate park.

«The heart» of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts and the culmination of the route is the secret courtyard. In an immersive setting one can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts. The secret courtyard is accessed via another quicker route along «the narrowest street in the city.» Removing the fence and putting up the entrance gate with the symbols of the Russian Museum of Decorative Art the courtyard becomes another visual contact with the city.
