In this project, the location and shape of the site defined the character of the architecture. The site is located on a hill right in the city centre and offers a panoramic view of the sea, port and park. In turn, the site itself is visible from different spots in the city.
The client asked to divide the site into five equal parts for the construction of five individual villas. Another requirement was to create a true landmark: to develop an original design, fundamentally different from the existing buildings in the city. The result was a single unique architectural form, replicated on the five plots. The only difference between the houses lies in the finishing materials.
Cascade location determined the composition of the internal spaces, opening up to the sea. Located at the entrance, the kitchen (2,3 m high) gradually morphs into the living room of 4.5 meters following the relief. Thanks to the cascade layout, zoning is achieved automatically, without the need for additional structural partitions. When the weather is clear, the living room with a 360-degree view can be combined with the pool area, erasing the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. If needed, privacy is ensured by blackout roller blinds.
Over the transparent glass volume that connects the kitchen, dining room and living room hangs the block with private spaces: bathrooms, dressing room, children’s rooms and a bedroom, equipped with a large balcony. Here all windows have a sea view.
